Thomas J. Balshi, D.D.S., PhD., F.A.C.P.

Dr. Thomas J. Balshi is a Diplomate of The American Board of Prosthodontics and founder of Prosthodontics Intermedica in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. He is also the director of the Institute For Facial Esthetics.  Both his graduate and post-graduate degrees were earned from Temple University School of Dentistry, and he received an Honorary Doctorate of Science degree from Cabrini College.  Dr. Balshi received his surgical and prosthetic implant training directly from Professor Per Ingvar Bränemark, Institute For Applied Biotechnology, in Götenborg, Sweden.  He is a Charter Member and Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontists, and a Fellow and Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.  He is a Member of the International College of Prosthodontists, and the American Dental Association.  He was a Founder and President of the Pennsylvania Prosthodontic Association.  Dr. Balshi lectures globally and has published numerous scientific articles and videos on the subject of Brånemark implants and immediate function.

He has developed dental implant treatment protocols exclusive to Prosthodontics Intermedica, including Teeth in a Day® for accelerated rehabilitation and No BoneZ Solution™, to eliminate the need for extensive bone grafting.  He is a member of the adjunct faculty of both Temple University School of Dentistry and Nova Southeastern University Dental School.  He has provided special implant training programs at The Institute For Facial Esthetics in Fort Washington for Surgical and Prosthodontic Residents from Harvard, Maryland, UCONN, Columbia, Loma Linda, Temple and Nova Southeastern.  Dr. Balshi has co-authored a textbook entitled A Patient’s Guide to Dental Implants, and was a contributing author to Dental Implants:  The Art and Science – 2nd Edition (hardcover), Saunders.  His most recent textbook contribution is in Zygomatic Implants – The Anatomy-Guided Approach (Quintessence

Stephen F. Balshi, MBE

Stephen F. Balshi, MBE received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.   He was awarded a Master’s Degree at the School of Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA with a published thesis on the stability of Brånemark implants and immediate function.  He is the President of CM Prosthetics Inc., a dental laboratory that focuses on the rehabilitation of the fully edentulous, utilizing state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology.  He is also the Director of Research for PI Dental Center at the Institute for Facial Esthetics in Fort Washington, PA.  He has been published in several international journals and continues to direct research at the Institute for Facial Esthetics.
